We would like to invite you to the lecture devoted to the one of the most prominent explorer of Oceania, forgotten in Poland – Jan Stanisław Kubary.
Tomasz Madej, a curator of the Asia and Pacific Museum, will bring closer a silhouette and abundant biography of traveler and etnographer from Warsaw. He will tell you what has led him to the far-distatnt Pacific Ocean and also Jan’s fascinating scietific achievement will be presented, with particular reference to tattoo from Micronesia, of which Kubary devoted not only a couple of publications but also his own body. Presentation will be accompanied by photos and drawings of which Kubary is an author.
